2024 Capes & Cocktails Gala Raises The Bar!
On the evening of September 21, 2024, Enzo & Me held our 3rd annual Capes & Cocktails Gala at Casa Bella Event Center in Sunol, CA. Over 115 generous supporters filled the beautiful venue in support of pediatric cancer research. The evening included dinner, silent and live auctions, music by DJ Pierre of Twin Spin Entertainment, and of course a collection of moving talks from clinicians and cancer warriors. This year’s speakers included Stanford’s Dr. Michelle Monje (recipient of our DIPG research grant), pediatric cancer survivor Jenee Areeckal, and pediatric cancer warriors and advocates Marisol and Alexandria Rubio. By the end of the evening, over $95,000 had been raised to fight pediatric cancer! We hope to see you at our next event!
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Enzo & Me Pediatric Cancer Foundation is to fund cutting-edge pediatric cancer research to find better treatments and cures for all pediatric cancers, as well as promoting the professional education of primary care pediatricians to improve early diagnosis and treatment.
OUR GOAL
The goal is simple- that all pediatric cancers will one day be curable, using treatments that reduce chronic secondary health conditions.
Why Fund Pediatric Cancer Research?
Believe it or not, less than 4% of federal funding for cancer research in the United States is directed towards pediatric cancers. The major breakthroughs in childhood cancer treatments have come because of private funding of generous people like you through non-profit organizations like Enzo & Me.
Why Promote Professional Education?
80% of pediatric cancers have already begun to spread or metastasize at the time they are diagnosed! This can negatively affect prognosis in many childhood cancers. This is why we believe further education for primary care pediatricians is so important. We need better awareness!
